F. Jobard Meursault Les Charmes 1er Cru 2001

Low in Stock
  • Domaine Francois Jobard is based in Meursault with only 6 hectare of vineyards. Started in 1860s, this family domaine is now in the safe hands of fifth generation owner, Antoine Jobard. Continuing the old-fashioned vinification, Francois and Antoine minimize the use of new oak (~15%) and no batonnage. While there is no grand cru in Meursault, this estates offers an enviable line-up of premier crus, including Poruzots, Blagny, Genevrières, and Charmes.

Burghound: 91

"Outstanding! I usually prefer Jobard's Genevrières to his Charmes but not in 2001 as this takes virtually all of the character and finesse of the Genevrières, if not the spicy aromas, and adds even more purity, depth of extract and persistence. Unusually fine for Charmes and even adds a beguiling hint of finishing minerality. The best of this range of 2001s." (Jul 2004)
