- The Minuto family began producing their wines more than 100 years ago. Their vineyards are located in two towns - Barbaresco and Neive. The Barbarescos come from three crus of radically different character, each one vinified separately so as to express the terroir. The “Basarin”, from vines around Neive, has sweet black fruits and currants on the nose, but is firm and lean on the palate, providing excellent nearer-term drinking.
"Incredibly rich, with masses of ripe fruit on the nose, from plum to blackberry, showing smoky oak undertones. Full-bodied, with layers of silky, ripe tannins and a long, fruity, almost jammy finish. A real triumph. Moccagatta is a leader in Barbaresco right now, and this is one of the greatest wines ever from this producer." (Nov 2003)
