"Outstanding! Here the sulfur is strong enough to dominate the nose and thus it's impossible to provide a competent evaluation. By contrast the rich, generous and overtly opulent flavors possess seemingly buckets of dry extract that impart an almost chewy sensation to the persistent and faultlessly harmonious finish. Textbook Referts." (Jun 2012)
"Pale greenish-yellow. Delicate, pure aromas of lemon and minerals. Brisk and backward, with lovely acidity enlivening the dusty, tactile citrus and mineral flavors. This really saturates the palate. Finishes with lovely tension and finesse, not to mention impressive length. The crop level here, according to Gerard Boudot, was just 27 hectoliters per hectare. He added that 2010 is one of his favorite vintages in a long time, thanks in large part to the sharply reduced yields." (Sep 2012)
"The 2010 Puligny-Montrachet Les Referts is another of the bolder wines in this lineup. Waves of yellow stone fruits, honey and sweet spices burst from the glass. The greater age of the vines and the heavier presence of clay in this site (right next to Perrieres) gives the Referts much of its volume and textural richness. Although exciting at the outset, the Referts turns hard and angular on the finish. Today, the wine’s balance is not quite where it should be." (Aug 2012)
