  • The founder of the domaine, Stanislaus Serafin is Polish origin. He moved to Gevrey-Chambertin in 1930's and chose to become a farmer (one of the two jobs available to immigrants at the time, other job being miner)
  • Faught against and captured by Germans during WWII, Stanislaus returned to Gevrey after upon release and began working in a winery tending vines
  • Taking advantage of inexpensive vineyards available in the market after the war, Stanislaus began acquiring vineyards and building up his own domaine
  • Son and current winemaker, Christian, began working jointly with his father in 1950s and produced wines highly sought after in fine restaurants in Europe and US

IWC: 90

"Good deep red. Expressive aromas of wild red fruits and smoked meat. Sweet, supple and seriously rich; this already gives a fleshier impression than even the crus in 2006. Finishes with ripe tannins and lovely lingering sweetness. This cuvee has turned out very well." (Apr 2008)
