  • Domaine Faiveley was first started in 1825 by Pierre Faiveley and is now in the seventh generation of Erwan Faiveley
  • It is one of the largest vineyard-owning negociant with a massive holding of ~115 hectare
  • The domaine has been widely regarded as a prime source of the best and most consistent fine Burgundy, and setting the high bar for other negociants and individual growers
  • Corton-Charlemagne is often regarded one of the best grand cru white wine, and Faiveley again makes a solid wine from this appelation

Burghound: 93
"There is a discreetly hint of exoticism to the ripe white flower and green apple fruit nose that is nuanced by hints of anise, clove and wet stone where the latter element is also reflected on the intensely soil-driven flavors brimming with both salinity and minerality on the explosive and strikingly long finish. This is a classic Corton-Charlemagne that is close to peaking but for my taste I would allow another 2 to 4 years of cellar time first. In sum, this is really very impressive." (Nov 2012)
