Wine Spectator: 91
"Gorgeous red, with attractive rose petal, violet, chocolate, spice and cassis flavors offered in an elegant and racy package. Sophisticated, well-integrated tannins, medium body, supple and has a long, delicious finish. Tempting now, better after 2000. Gaja made no single-vineyard crus this vintage, putting his best vats in this regular Barbaresco instead. " (Oct 1997)
