  • Widely regarded as the "DRC of Grower Champagne", Anselme Selosse is probably the most inspiring producer who started a revolution in this historical wine region
  • Similar to the very top producers in Burgundy, Selosse adopted biodynamic viticulture and continues to strive hard to express the characteristics of the underlying terrior
  • With a mere 7.5 hectare of vineyards, Domaine Jacques Selosse only produces 4,750 cases per year
  • Disgorged in Oct 2010, "Initial" is blended from 100% chardonnay and grand cru - ABSOLUTELY IMPECCABLE!

Wine Advocate: 95
"The NV Brut Blanc de Blancs Grand Cru Initial is absolutely impeccable. It’s hard to know where to start. What is more impressive: the definition of aromas and flavors, or is it the wine’s sublime texture? The Initial is remarkable for its nuance, clarity and overall sense of harmony. The mousse is impeccably fine from start to finish, while the expression of Chardonnay is all elegance. Juicy apricots, peaches, flowers, crushed rocks and spices meld together on the seamless, utterly impeccable finish. Initial is Selosse’s largest production cuvee and is a blend of fruit from Avize, Cramant and Oger, all Grand Cru villages." (Dec 2010)

IWC: 93
"Pale gold. Seductive scents of pear, orange zest, honeysuckle and smoky minerals. Sappy, precise citrus and orchard fruit flavors are given lift and spine by chalky minerality, picking up a floral quality with air. The floral note lingers on the very long, dusty, impressively vibrant finish." (Dec 2011)
