  • Dated back to the 19th century, the domaine, while with only small vineyard size, produces some of the very best wines from Chambolle Musigny.
  • Robert Parker described that "Each and every wine at this Domaine was a first-rate example of its terroir, from the Bourgogne to the grand crus. The meticulous work of Serge Groffier (Robert's son) in the vineyards is evidenced by each glass of nectar from this well-known and certainly soon-to-be-famous domaine."
  • Well this was commented back in 1996, now Domaine Groffier is way beyond just being famous...
  • Les Sentiers is 4.9 hectare in size and lies just under Bonnes-Mares

"Deep red. Vibrant aromas of framboise, cherry and rose petal. Bright, precise and floral; comes across as considerably more delineated and brisk than the Haut-Doix. Offers a rare combination of silky texture, sweetness of fruit and verve for the year. Finishes very long and sweet, with fine, horizontal tannins. A superb showing." (Apr 2004)

Wine Advocate: 91
"Black cherry syrup can be found in the nose of the outstanding, medium-bodied 2001 Chambolle-Musigny Les Sentiers. A sumptuous wine, it bastes the palate with thick layers of jammy red and black fruits. A hedonist’s delight, this candied, supple effort is a sensual, sexy effort." (Jun 2003)
