Founded in 1898, Domaine du Vieux Telegraph is one of the better known names in Chateauneuf du Pape. His small vineyard was at one of the highest points in between Châteauneuf-du-Pape and Bédarrides – such elevation had prompted the construction of a communication tower in the late 18th century, which gave rise to the domaine’s name. Blessed with one of the finest locations in the area (La Crau), this particularly hot microclimate the domaine to harvest as much as 1 week ahead of their neighbors and produce wines of exceptional concentration.
Wine Spectator: 94 "Brilliant. Very reserved on the nose. Thick and rich, with excellent balance. Amazing dry extract. Has excellent lemon character, with butter and pear. Full-bodied and delicious. Decant, because it improves as it breathes. Best from 2002 through 2020." (Nov 2000)
